Semi Old Yard Finds

I got permission to detect an early 1900's house and came up with the following keepers. No silver as far as coins, but did manage a few wheats from the early to mid 20's. The dog almost looks like a game piece. Maybe back when Monopoly used actual metal pieces? Another dog tax tag. I always thought those were pretty cool to find, with the exception that the dog is not still attached of course. Thankfully that hasn't happened yet. The pin I am not sure about. It is about the size of a half dollar. Thanks for looking, now get out there and start digging.

Seriously I love that dog tag! We need someone to post some pics! I am sure everyone is bored looking at my clad finds!:detecting:

Not me, I am impressed with your clad count. I use it as motivation to keep digging. I have a lot more pictures from the last few weeks. I will try to trickle them in. I found two other dog tax tags that I will post soon. Thanks for the encouraging words.

My arms are sore, my back stiff, I think I am getting clad burnout! But thanks I think it is an advantage to be able to dig during the week in the mornings (working midnights). Seems like a lot of surface clad in my local parks, my finds are mainly 0.0 to 3.5...4.0

A few bums at the parks I hunt have even had some excellent days eyeballing coins! One claimed he had found 71 coins in a day once!!!
But...he did look a little drunk!

Another lady different day same park came up to me even though I was trying to ignore her with some junk jewelry she had found in the tot lot claiming it was gold with diamonds.....it was obviously fake and i dropped it on ground...got no reading and just to get rid of her said....yes!!! yes!! I think you have something valuable there, go to a jeweler. Thank god she left!

HaHa!! Now that is funny. You must find more rings than most others though, right? I have had a few 100+ coin days and I know that I was sore afterwards. Where did you say you were from again? I am in Rochester, NY.

I am in Illinois, the big city with over 2,000,000 people! The only prblem with finding a lot of clad is as my numbers rise even though it has been gradual I have a lot of people on other forums making comments. I am thinking of removing my coin counter if it keeps up. I notice a few others that were having a good clad year did. I am just getting out hitting a lot of suburban parks and have 50 parks within driving distance. i work 10 at a time and they always seem to have enough when I go back. keep in mind when I do have 100 coin days there are a ton of pennies. I would rather have a day like i did yesterday with 69 coins and over $6 in clad, then over 100 coins and just over $6 in clad. There are pennies and tons of them everywhere I hunt! They are a pain in the butt! I think there are more pennies then pulltabs and the suburban parks have more coins then trash!:detecting:
