Selling to Overseas Military

Got a question that hits on the selling to Europe question that was bantered about earlier. I am in the Air Force, stationed in Germany, and I want to buy a Tesoro Eldorado. As mentioned, the exchange rate and the cost of buying from a European delaer makes it attractive to purchase from a US dealer.
Here's the sticky part. I have a US address (APO box), and am a US citizen. Does this count as selling to Europe?:?
I would like this question answered as I want to buy for the spring thaw before I get sent to the desert...

I have a fellow who buys military buttons from me who is stationed in Germany and I send them to his APO box .I would think you should be able to buy a detector here and have it sent to your APO box because I didn't think you were suppose to suffer any loss for serving your country.

All Tesoro Dealers are prohibited by their contract from selling overseas. The reasons are really simple: Tesoro has Distributors/Dealers overseas, those Dist/Dealers have to figure in the high costs of shipping, import levies, taxes and a host of other Gov't payola. And, if you had to send your detector back to the States for repair, you are responsible for shipping...both ways. That could get expensive. However, I have never asked Tesoro, but I would think they would have considerations to our Military stationed abroad. I suggest you email Tesoro and ask directly. If you need their contact info, just email me and I'll be glad to reply. Thanks for serving our country; we do appreciate it!

Dunno if this is pertinent to your conversation Keith, but recent charges by UPS, [4lbs!], for shipping a Tesoro SS to the UK were $122! The 'nice' chap receiving the package nicked me for the postage. The heat generated over this event got me locked out of an 'interesting' forum.
!NICE GUYS BEWARE!

FIND SOMEONE HERE IN THE STATES TO PURCHASE ONE FOR YOU FRIEND FAMILY WHOEVER AND HAVE THEM SHIP TO YOU!!!!
GLOBAL PRI> MAIL THROUGH THE US. POST OFFICE WOULD COST YOU $24.00 AND YOU WOULD HAVE IT IN % DAYS!!!! I WAS ON A DETECTING TRIP TO ENGLAND LAST YEAR AND MY EURO_SABRE QUIT ON ME SO MY BROTHER QUICKLY PURCHASED AN ELDORADO FOR ME AND SHIPPED AS STATED ABOVE AND WELL !!!!!!!!
GOOD LUCK AND THANK YOU!!!!FOR DOING A JOB THATS MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!!!
I RETIRED FROM THE USMC 1989

Thanks all. I have ordered an Eldorado from an online dealer, and I also received a few responses personally that state that selling to overseas military with an APO box is ok. I didn't ask Tesoro, but it appears that this is not a problem.
Thanks for the responses, and hopefully I will have some good finds to share once the ground here thaws.
