There seems to be a lot of game playing going on right now in the form of folks PM'ing ad nauseum about buying your detector or accessory item and even saying they'll take it and payment being sent when none of that is true at all. The common denominator here seems to be newly registered person(s) with few if any past posts that can be construed as proof that they are legitimate. My advice to everyone upon receiving a PM from anyone acting like they're interested in an item for sale is to click on their user name and note if they've made any posts at all and especially ones that shows they've bought anything in the past and if so, confirm by doing a search on the feedback forum that there weren't any problems with the transaction. Keep in mind that it is theoretically possible that a gamer can list a ficticious item, simulate that another person (who is really the same person with a second registered user name) bought it and the sale went flawlessly. Stick with the well established members with a lot of history and feedback from other well established members and you should be good to go. If you want to take a chance on an unknown or even a well known person that you don't know through past experience, make them prove themselves by providing a real email addy (not yahoo, etc) and or their real name and address is traceable to a LISTED home phone that corresponds to that name. Just use your head, be cautious, and play it safe. If you do catch someone being less than genuine, report them to admin. Time to circle the wagons a bit.
