Selecting Ground Filters

cx3

New member
I recently posted that I had determined that I got better depth in my soil with the 5 HZ Band Pass filter, this was in dry hard ground reading -90 VDI on ground probe. This afternoon I was testing the filters again after we had a good rain last night and found that I got the best depth with the 7.5 HZ Band Pass filter the sweep was slightly faster with the 7.5 filter. It seems that ground moisture has an afffect on filter performance. I did all of my testing in my test garden on a silver Rosie dime at 9". The question I have is how do you determine which filter to use when you have no target to test on at a known depth such as in a hunting situation? HH
