Selected Ace 250

New member
I finally picked the ACE250 over the Whites Prizm Models, will go tomorrow to order it and hope it will be in by Christmas. After seeing what all of you have to say about the ACE250 and what you have found, I am convinced this is the one for me.

The only problem is, the snow has arrived and the temperature is in the 20's.

I can't wait to get my new MD so I can get out there and find some treasures.

Thanks to everyone for all their help.

The Ace has a lot more features than the Prizms. And costs less than the P2. You would have to really compare it with the P5 and the P5 doesn't have selective notch a 4.5 inch coil. And it's $500.00 bucks. So there is no comparison to the Prizms. You made the right choice in my opionion.

Great Choice, Eddie. The 250 will be in your arsenal for years to come; it gets the job done and is so easy to learn.

When the snow melts enough, hit some playgrounds with woodchips; easy diggin' and the finds can be very good, too.

You can't go wrong with the 250, no matter what you
compare it to. And if you eventually order the extra
coils, it's even more versatile. You might want to consider
ordering a coil cover. It's optional, and not actually
needed to work, but it will protect the coil and keep it
new looking. Another advantage to having a cover is you can
scruff along the ground real close, and not have to worry
about whacking the coil on a rock, or whatever. The epoxy
coils can chip if they are whacked against a hard object.
The small sniper coil is plastic enclosed, and doesn't really
need a cover. I have one anyway though, so I have double walled
protection for my sniper coil.. :) I also have the 9x12 coil
and cover also for scanning fields, deeper stuff, etc..
The stock coil is fine to start with though, so don't think you
*have* to have the extra coils. I didn't order the extra coils
until I had used the machine for a while.

The ACE 250 is my winter machine and I hunt toboggan hills with it. I usually get some loot on the snow hills. You bought a "gooder"

Looking forward to seeing your finds and reading your stories. :)

Eddie.
You will love it! Give yourself a bit of time to get used to it and you will find that you will go from strength to strength with it. I own an X-Terra30 as well and I've got to tell, the Ace is by far the better machine. It may be simple, but BOY, does it perform.
All the best, and just remember, if you get to impatient to use it, jump on a plane to the Caribbean. You may find enough to pay for the trip!

I have had good results detecting in the snow, particularly at the foot of tubing/sking hills. Yes the ground is probably frozen, but most of the finds are in the snow. I only do this when its sunny with little wind and between 20 and 40f,otherwise my hands get numb.
