That's interesting. How much would that cost to do? Say putting on a 15x12 SEF coil and most importantly how long will take to get back?

I would think its a bit big for surf work, although great on the wet sand

I was thinking about it 4 the wet sand. I agree, surf would a challenge with it.

I once was given a price of $75 plus the shipping,my coil of course. The problem with the bigger coils is that they can't pressure test it in the
tank,as it isn't big enough for anything larger than the 10",as least at that time.So there is no warranty on the work. That's the way it has
been for the WOT coil hard wire.Would be interesting to see how it worked.HH Joe

$75 plus S&H isn't bad. What do you mean by pressure test it? To see if it's water-proof?? The thing that concerns me the most is how long will it take. It's taking people months to get their machines repaired under warranty. If that is the case I would send it in now so I could get it back before prime time.

They put the finished job in a pressure tank to test it to 200' or so,to see if it will leak.Unfortunately the 10" coil is about as big as can be put in
the tank with the detector. So no guarantee on the job.Time wise,I'm not sure, but it probably has increased after the sale of Minelab. Not as
many people left.Hope that's not the case, but I think I'll keep my other Excal for a while till I know for sure.Nice to have a back up.
Good luck with it.HH Joe

ok, thanks. Duh, I don't why I didn't think of that one.
