SEF coils and depth readings

New member
Hey there. My SEF 6x8 coil and my DFX dont seem to be able to accurately determine target depth. I mean its not even close. The coil PP well but the depth is off more often than not. Maybe its the crazy compacted rocky ground Ive been in lately? Anyone else find this happening to any extent? Im not expecting perfection. Thanks. HH. Matt

You'll have that problem with the dfx when using different coils. Even when you use different coils made by whites, the depth will be off in depth. The DFX is set up to be accurate with the stock 9.5 coil that it came with.

The depth readings are off on my DFX when I use the SEF 6x8 also Matt. They are usually right on with coins when I use the 950 coil.

How are the depth readings on your new Ultimate coil Matt?

Hey Wasp. The depth readings appear to be a little of with the Ultimate coil too. Most importantly tho the PP is right on target. HH. Matt

Same with the SEF 6x8........pinpoints right on......sweet coil!
