I use the 10 X 12.... but i have an SE so these darn things get heavy, especially when you arent finding targets to dig. As far as falsing.... you didnt mention the type of machine you have. If its not a dual or multi freq you will get falsing on the wet sand.... but not from the coil. These are good stable coils if you run your machine correctly. You also didnt say if you wanted to use the coil for places other than the beach. Id still go with the 10 X 12. Another consideration.... WOT its lighter and bigger. You may go deeper with the 15 inch but you are going to loose smaller targets so the pay off i dont believe is there over the 10 X 12.

Etrac..... dont waist your money, you have a pro coil on it. I believe the pro is a little more sensitive to small item than the SEF and thats what you are looking for. If you want something different try that WOT covers a LOT of ground is a little deeper while still hitting small targets.... plus its a tad lighter.
