SEF coil test another view

I see a lot of reports on the SEF coil. Most people like it but there are a few who are asking if there are reports that are negative.

Here is one report that tells a little different story than others about the SEF coil...............SEF coil review

I do not own an SEF coil right now. I probably will end up buying one sooner or later just to see what is what. Could be the problems this guy had was because he was using an F-75.

Never ran a SEF on an F75, but on the Soveriegn , and on the E Trac the SEF's that I have run have always run very stable ...I noticed no great depth difference as I was more concerned with overall area rather than depth ....Is a matter of fact , I remember being blown away on how quiet the 12 x 15 ran on an E Trac at a Saltwater beach .... I don't know that many people who have noticed THAT much of a depth difference on either the 10 x 12 or the 12 x 15 SEF ..... Weight was considerable on the 12 x 15 because of it's size , but was handled nicely with a Swingy Thingy , so the weight was not realized to any degree ...... Seperation on both 10x12 and 12 x 15 SEF's were similar to the Pro Coil and the 10" Tornado ....Jim

It appears he tested the 15x12. If so, I can see why he'd get less depth as in any kind of minerals it's seeing too much ground matrix. The 12x10 is deeper than stock so far on my GT, while the 15x12 was only deeper than stock in the sand. Also, I hear the F75 is a bit chatty, which would make a larger coil pick up more noise maybe. The 15x12 and 12x10 are both more stable coils than my 10" Tornado, and at higher sensitivty settings.
