I have an opinion on comparing the 2.........I owned the SunRay 5" till I sold it on EBay a couple weeks ago..........Nice lil coil, depth to about 6 1/2"......Great for trashy area, but you have to move real slow threw the trash.............I almost wish I had kept it,and may buy another -or- the excellerator 5"..I tried my buddies 6 x 8 sef,and fell in Love with it.Great in the trash, great Tones,
Great Depth....I was continually finding 4-7" silver......I called my buddy over on a signal I got that in swing had the depth meter at about 8-10"........I dug down about 7-8",and then had to call him over.....It was still 13/42 on my sunray, and I had to have him watch as I un-earthed this thing....had my probe in the hole lil past the plastic nut at the top (9" ?)....Then I pulled out a thin 3/4" copper washer.....I was not depressed, cause I learned what a deepy sounds like on the 6 x 8".....I ordered mine, and will have it wensday............Both coils are good in the trash, but the 6 x 8" SEF goes deeper, and covers more Ground, the 5" can get a goodie even closer to shallow trash.........That's MY take on the subject....H.H.
