Kellyco special order of 10 x 12's have arrived.I received mine today. If you are interested they may still have some available.

I received mine a few days ago and I just got back from doing some tests between the 13 inch Ultimate and the 12 x 10 SEF.

I hardwired each coil to my two Excalibur II's and I did some side by side comparisons. I was using the 13 Ultimate and the factory 10 inch and the 13 Ultimate was better to me than the factory coil. But now since I have the 12 x 10, I thought I would compare the two to see which is better for me and where I hunt.

After quite a few hours of freezing my hands off, I have come to the conclusion after two days of detecting that I prefer the 12 X 10 SEF over the 13 inch Ultimate.

Why?

The stability of the 12 x 10 exceeds that of the 13 Ultimate. I feel that the 12 x 10 is smoother and in some instances deeper. Some targets that the 12 x 10 hit, the Ultimate had a hard time with due to being not as stable. I run pin point and then check with discriminate and the pin point mode with the 12 x 10 is smoother with less flutter in the audio. Even lowering the sensitivity with the Ultimate I still ran into stability problems. No matter what I did, the pin point mode with the 13 was just too crazy to be of use.

The ability of the SEF to be around power lines is also a plus for me. It seems that the Ultimate is just too sensitive to RFI.

I feel more confident with the 12 x 10 SEF than the 13 Ultimate.

I hear that the Ultimate 13 is not as good in the salt water as the 12 x 10 so that also is a concern as I hunt Florida beaches for two months in the winter.

Now this is just my opinion and your's may be different. To me, the 12 x 10 beats the Ultimate overall around the areas I hunt and with my Excaliburs. The 13 Ultimate is coming off and another 12 x 10 will be ordered. The 12 x 10 SEF is just a better coil overall in my opinion.
