SEF 10x12 coil water proof???

Does anyone know if the SEF 10x12 coil is water proof? I know the 11" pro coil that came with my SE Pro is, but I don't know about the SEF coil? By water proof, I mean can it be submerged and completely water resistant. I am heading to the beach Wednesday and plan to do some dry sand hunting and water hunting, and I would like to experiment with both coils. Chris

Yes they are water proof. I hunt with mine in Florida in the salt water all the time. Make sure if you water hunt with it that you clean under the the coil cover out after the hunt. If you dont there will be falsing later.... it sure dont take much to affect GB. Just remember the box ISNT water proof. I always recommend putting a sticker over your speaker as well just in case. The Joey coil used for mostly gold hunting is about the only coil any more i know of that isnt water proof.

Thanks Dew, I had a feeling it might be water proof, but I wasn't 100% sure. I do plan on hunting in the water, as well as the sand, and I have a sticker that I will put over the speaker. Good tip!!! This will be my 1st. time with it at the beach, and knowing me, I will be very aware of the water getting nowhere near the box.

Thanks Dew

They work great... ive used mine in several states and beaches. You should be able to run it hot and open up the IM on most beaches. Work from the water on the wet sand first during low tide and locate the troffs. If you are just finding low density targets like pull tabs... you may have too much sand. Work them early or late for fresh drops around the towel line. The more IM you use with gain and sensitity the more depth you will get.
