We had our detecting clubs spring seeded hunt this weekend. Camped in our trailer and had a great time. On Saturday a few of us went to a park for two hours. Before Saturday the oldest coin I had found at this park was a 1918 wheat. On Saturday I found a 1888 Indian thats was my 2nd Indian of the month and 3rd for the year. We ended up with 19 people around a campfire Saturday night.
On Sunday the day of the seeded hunt it rained like crazy. The clubs board which I am on came close to callin it off. We ended up eating a potluck first and waiting to see if the rain would stop. After a while it did and I think everyone had a great time. We had 35 hunters I believe. I ended up with 1 Indian ( not the one from the park on saturday ) 2 V Nickels, 29 Mercury Dimes, 1 Barber dime, 6 silver washingtons and 4 walking liberty halfs.
After both hunts we had an extra hunt for $5.00. We seeded an area with 80 buffalo Nickels and 2 of the new Buffalo nickels. All the money collected was divided in two for the people who found the two new buffalos. I ended up with 4 buffalos but not the money ones
Sure was a great time. Looking forward to the fall hunt now!!
God bless
