Seeded Hunt Settings?

Coinstar

New member
I am going to my first seeded hunt in about a month. Because the coins are on the surface. Should I turn the gain way down?
All I have is the stock D2 coil. I am also thinking maybe keep it off the surface by an inch or so? Anyone have a program or advice for surface only finds?

I almost think just looking down for coins would be almost as fast.

Your Right the V3 is hot right out of the box, Gain / Disc senc / All Metal turn im down , And the Recovery speed you`ll want to speed it up to 30
Speeding up the Recovery will help also, See a slow recovery speed 100 to 80 will go deeper and wen you lower the Recovery #s it speeds the response faster to recover targets close together and loose depth witch you want, I hunted a competition Hunt this way with my V and did good with the 10 DD coil, The recovery speed runs form 200 to 1
the bigger the #s the slower and deeper it will go, Do a bench test with the Recovery you`ll see??? Good Luck coinstar, Mickfin

MIck hit it right on the head and the only thing I might add is try the High Trash program for starters. Speed is everything in competition hunts, I have been in several dozen over the years and you will have about 20 minutes or less to recover as many targets as you can. I would suggest getting a roll of pennies and throwing them in an area roughly 20X20 and practice how fast you can locate and recover them. May times you will locate more than one target at a time and you can set your detector over one or two of them while recovering another. Practice, each silver dime recovered nowadays is $2.50.........
