Hi, all:
I put quotes around new Vision because I got a great deal on a "used" Vision, so it was new to me. In reality, the warranty card hadn't been submitted and it came in perfect shape. And, in full disclosure, this is my second unti. I bought a new V3 several months ago, and sold it after three days because I felt for the money it didn't live up to my expectations. I felt it was sluggish, some of the programs were "squirrley" and lacked depth, even after playing around with some of the settings.Guess I had buyers remorse. Anyway, I kept lurking on this forum and made notes on operational hints and kept my eyes open for a "used" unit I might buy and try again, which I did. I spent several days tweaking the coin programs and have used it on two short two hour hunts. I'm rehunting an old school yard a block from where I live. It's a bug yard. Two square city blocks. I've hunted it hard the past three years with several different machines. I've gridded off the whole area and have covered it completely, twice. I'm on my third go around at this point. My first two hour hunt last week netted me several nickles in the 2-3 inch range, as well as two wheat pennies in the 4 inch range that other machines had missed. Today I found eight nickles in the 2-4 inch range, as well as a key and "ring" in the 3-4 inch range. The ring is actually a watch that fits on your finger. The rest of the clad was shallow. The Vision is finding objects missed by other machines. Not just an occassional object, but a significant amount that tells me it's doing a better job. Prviously I had used an MXT and an F 2 to hunt this particular area. I haven't found anything terribly deep, but I think it will get it if it's there. I primarily relic hunt and will have to play with the relic mode to see if it will compete with my F 75, which has been my go to for deep relics. I hope it does, becasue I really like the way I'm able to set up the screen to my specifications. I'm glad I came back for another ty.
