Second thoughts on the V3....

and they are GOOD.

This detector, IMO, has had more thought put into it than any machine ever. It is very well thought out and very well designed. I can tell that Whites really listened to the customer and designed the V3 around customer requests... I am so very pleased with my V3. What more can I say... and I have just begun to scratch the surface of all the features and tweaks that make this machine superior.

I am glad that I bought the 4x6 coil with it. I think it is really helping me through the learning process, having never befroe ownd a Whites. I tried the 950 and the 6x10 and both overloaded me with info. Te 4x6 is perfect and I am making finds with it where there should be nothing...

I am very happy. A few months ago I was convinved that nothing could take the place of my E-TRAC, as my #1 machine... now, I am not so sure. They are both good and they both have a place but the V3 will probably be my "go to" machine now. Except for those places where only a Tesoro will work...

Do not buy this detector if you hunt in NW GA or NW Atlanta, (where I hunt...) but, if you hunt somewhere else... do yourself a favor and buy one now!

If you hunt in NW GA or NW Atlanta the best machine for you is a Bounty Hunter... or any machine that is at least 20 years old.

The more I use my V3 the more I also like it I have sold my Etrac and I am commeted to learning every thing the V3 has to offer. It is a great detector and you are right alot of thought went in to it. I love the adjustments and how easy it is to make changes to the programs while you are still swinging to find the best settings. Now if I can dig some more gold with it at the beach next week I will like it even more.

Hi jason...I'm also a beach hunter and so far in the last 4 days, got 3 golds, 2 silver and one of those silvers was a Tiffany .925...value: $200.00...I simply think the Vision (before it was changed to the V3) is one hell'uva beach machine and my count on quarters in the last 3 days, 60, 33, 46...plus a fair share of dimes and nickels....today got a Kennedy half and a few weeks ago got a peace dollar 1923(s). Also found my first new president dollar coin, John Tyler, 10th president. The Vision has made detecting fun again....Regards, Jim

Hi Jim - I'm from upstate NY - planning a weekend visit to NYC area - if i may ask - what beach do you do to there to make such great finds??
thanks.

What coil and settings are you using. The V3 should be the same as the Vision only thing that changed is the name.

Hi Barry...Mostly Rockaway Beach. As far as the Vision goes, I've also used the Tejon and Quattro but this Vision surely beats them both. As I said, detecting is fun again. Just never know what finds I'll come home with. Enjoy your stay in the Apple.

Jason. I am still using the stock coil and as far as the settings go, seems each day is different. By that I mean prior to yesterday, I was using the Salt beach mode exclusively, but then I switched to the Hi-pro as I was getting more false hits in the salt mode than I like to hunt with. That move alone calmed the V3 down quite a bit and the false hits were few and far inbetween. In the Hi-pro, I run the Rx gain at 10 and the disc at 80 the All Metal at 30, but again with the beach conditions changing daily, adjustments are made on the fly. My numbers could be off a little as my memory just isn't what it used to be. I'm still learning but as I said, detecting is fun again with a machine like the V3 and my other passion, golf, is taking a back seat and I golf 3 days a week. However, I'm cutting that down to 2 days and reserving the other day to detecting. Thanks and good luck. Jim

I am in ozone park in queens just up the road from rockaway beach, visiting my sons. I brought my xterra 70 with me and would like to detect rockaway while I am here.

hi Jim thanks for the reply - are you hunting in wet sand or dry (to get that gold) and what program are you using on the V - salt beach?
