First off the Sunray inline probe is a great tool and I wish they would come up with something soon for the exterra series, that being said...I was very imperssed with the depth and the clarity of signal on deeper coins ,while not getting into the silver grove I was still real pleased with its overall performance ...I ran the sens at 7 which seemed just right for where I was hunting ....(yesterday I had to run it lower).I am really begining to like this machine, its deeper than I figured it would be it ids coins real well, and junk just seems to run around the ten numbers and never locks up ....I did see some junk that locked like a coin but that happenes with them all...the smashed screw cap is a nightmare pretty much but there were some telltale signs that with time you could dig even less junk ......I like it alot ,Great depth, lightweight, attractive ''look''.An all around winner in my book ...........I could see this being a perfect detector for someone just starting out ...the tone id is mellow and not too overwhelming, super simple to use,and the price point is just right for a first time unit .......beginers and pros could use this thing and have a fun day........good machine ........
