Second hunt in a row I got a silver quarter....

REVIER

Well-known member
Second hunt in a row I found a silver quarter and that never happened to me before.
This one is better than the first.
Looks like someone got it new and fresh from the bank, took it home and dropped it in the dirt,
That makes 2 for 2015 and for me that is a great start to the season.
A farmhouse that sits right in the middle of a public park, open to hunt and has been for years so I assumed this area has been scoured.
This is the first place I would hunt in this park if I came here for the first time so I thought others would too.
Either there aren't as many hunters around here as I thought, or they don't hit all the local parks like I do, or they never thought to hunt this home or they just aren't good at doing it if they tried.
Whatever the reason is I am fine with it.

Very nice.

Yeah, some of the places I hunt have been pounded many, many times over the years -- including by me with older equipment. I go in expecting to only find clad and still turn up Indian Heads, Mercs, even the occasional Barber or large cent. Part of it is about digging every non-iron target -- I figure if nothing else, I'm cleaning out a lot of old tabs and aluminum from public parks -- but many of the old coins were very strong and/or definite signals. I chalk some of it up to "newer" technology (e.g., notch-based discrimination, DDs coils in our mineralized soil around here, etc), but I'm still a bit amazed at what I oftentimes find.

That is a very sharp Quarter, nice dig.

Venner, thats why I also keep hitting the old hunted out sites.

Nice and crisp! This is a big Planet and these coils are so small and theres only a few really super days to hunt when conditions are just right...Good on ya for your streak!:clapping:
