Hey all,

Guess the surf gods must be smiling down on me. Was an interesting 5 hr hunt yesterday at CWB. Saw another MD'er with his wife (both using Excal's). About two hrs into hunting up to waist high surf, as we were crossing each other's line (he was about 20ft from the shoreline, knee high in the surf) and I was about 40ft from the shoreline waist high going the opposite direction and when we were crossing each other shrugging our shoulders about finding anyhting good I hit the ring! As soon as I saw it in the scoop (after two scoops to get it) I signaled for him to come over. Just then his wife came up and said she had just run the same line I was on and did'nt get a signal, but from looking at her settings she was running in DISC, where I always use reverse DISC with PP. Not sure if running in PP gave me some luck but all they found between each other was three silver earrings. The other interesting story was about an hour after finding the ring I was heading towards the pier when i was approached by 4 teenage boys asking if I could find a silver ring for their female friend she just lost (she was a little cutie too) so of course being the gentleman I started doing a grid search and just then the other MD'er from early was coming up, so I explained what I was doing and asked if he would'nt mind helping (two MD'ers might make the search go faster) so I start doing a line towards the shoreling, while he started out towards the deeper water...well after about ten minutes he found the ring! The girl was estatic of course and the 4 boys were in disbelief it was found so quickly, thats when I made a comment to them about next time they see an MD'er at the beach they should'nt be so quick to make a snide remark becuase that same MD'er could help find something precious to them, which they all shook their heads together in aggreement and said thanks again. So I guess you can say we did our good deed for the day, but it's always nice to come home with a little gold too.

Well HH All
