I'm going to Sebastian Inlet for a fishing trip soon. My bro gave me his old Whites 6000di, so, Im bringing it along so I can do some beach detecting when the fishing gets slow. Since Ive never been to Sebastian or done any beach detecting any advice would be great. Ive got dreams of Reales!
Thanks all

You should be able to find tons about the treasure ships and the weather has been pretty good. Stop by the Mel Fisher treasure museum on US1, while you are in town. Just go north from 510, it is on the right. Try to get a feel for the detector at home with some test targets. My method is to zigzag the beach from the hightide mark to the water's edge. Then if I get a target I start hunting that area more closely. You will notice that most targets will accumulate a certain distance from the hightide mark and almost in a straight line. If I were to guess, most targets seem to be along the steepest parts of the shore, especially the ones that appear like mini "cliffs" or cuts. Good luck and welcome.
