Sebastian Inlet State Park, FLA

Any locals know if they allow metal detectors in the beach swimming area of Sebastian Inlet State Park. Looks like a great place to hunt for gold. "Tennessee" Bob

You can hunt all you want..There was a HUGE surf fest two weeks ago w/ a $100,000.00 purse. Folks from all over the world showed up for this one (surfers and detectorist alike!) The weather was really cold, soo there wasn't many spectators, and the ones that were there were wearing a lot of clothing. Temps were only into the upper 40s. Saw about a dozen people down there today hunting, and very few finds. Good Luck, Larry (The Palm Bay Pirate)

While you're down that way, be sure to stop by McClarty Treasure Museum. It's a few miles south of the Inlet, situated on the beach side of the road. It has a LOT of Spanish treasure on display. It was built on a Spanish treasure salvage crew from the 1700s. You will also get to see what it is we're all looking for!!!!!:detecting::minelab::garrett::bounty::cheers:

Bob I have hunted all the beaches around there from Cocoa to Jensen beach and have never been asked to leave. There are a few places that it is not legal to hunt near some of the old wreck sites. Stop by Mcclarty's museum they can tell you where it is legal to hunt. If you are asking about the swim area on the north west corner of the Sebastian inlet causeway, you may have to go Thur the park gate to get to it, just ask one of the Rangers then you will know for sure. HH

Thanks, was looking for a good people populated beach to detect. Sounds like it is hit very hard there. Bob- Excal2
