First post in a while, 1st with my new e-. This was the third hunt using the new machine. Small changes to the Coin pattern and went to hunt a schoolyard from the late 1800's turned private property. Was told there was a old home that burned down 30 years ago on the back edge of the property and was pointed in that general direction. Found large amounts of fill where the house stood, but noticed a small of original dirt. First signal sounded like silver ( tone) and dug down 4'' and out popped a dime. Knowing the age of the area, i was hoping seated, i gently moved a little of the dirt to see if itwas or not , it was seated:thumbup: .I didn't get the year and left the dirt for later. Searched there another 1/2 hour and found some early buttons and a sewing pin with a large ball on top. So, i went to the side of a hill and was working a tree line and got a good signal and at 5'', out popped a small round disc, i was thinking, great a 1/2/ cent, 5 feet later a large coin disc comes out, thinking it was a large cent i kept going. Well the sun was going down and the rain started, so i left.

I get back to the house to clean up the old coppers and found out i was off a few years. In stead of a 1/2 cent, i saw the tell tale signs of a KG copper, the seated lady with the staff on the back and it had a date 1749! I couldn't believe that it was that early and still had a date. So when I looked at the other copper, sure enough, it turned out to be a 1730KG copper! Finally looked at the seated, a little water and boom 1876. Not a bad hour and a half.

Nice finds. If I were you I would go back to that hill spot and go over every inch really slow and careful like. I bet there's more waiting for you.

I plan on hitting the site a few more times. I thought i'd wait a little while between visits so that i don't 'crowd' the owners. I think repeated visits to close together makes the owners curious to what your really finding and possibly remove access.
