Seated 1875 Half

This 1875 seated half was found at about 8" using IM-16. The tone was high using Ferrous and the digital reading was right at 0,30 and would change by a few digits on both sides. The Audio Gain was set to 10, Semi-auto sensitivity at 28, FAST ON, DEEP OFF. The signal was so strong I thought the coin was most only a few inches deep so did not really look that close at the depth reading. I use a tool to dig that is marked so I can get a reasonable idea of depth.
The soil was not that bad as far as minerals but was a very black in color and in an area that would often be saturated with water or be very damp. The location was an old school yard way out at the edge of the grounds.
The coin looks like it really took a beating even before the soil tarnished the silver. I left the coin in the conditon found to show how tarnished some silver can be in some types of soil. The value of the coin is just the silver so there was no reason to do anything but use it for show and tell.
