Being the end of Decemeber in New Englang my detecting has been done in the past. This year the temps have been mild and we have gotten some rain to keep some of the deep freeze away.Earlier in the week while driving down a long country road I travel up & down all the time I spotted something in the woods.I said to myself it can't be....how haven't you spotted that before? Turned around and got out of the truck and sure enough a cellar hole.

I waited to our friend that I hunt with came over and took him to see our new sight.By the time we got there it was raining steady but we did some detecting anyway. The finds are slow comming & it is kind of trashy but we did find some things.I got a wheat cent, toy airplane & horse head, some kind of corner decoration & two bottles. He found some junk and 2 spoons that research dates to the 1800's.We will defenitly be back in the spring.I will have to build a sifter over the winter to see what is hidden in the cellar hole.

Thanks John.

The top spoon Is stamped Sheffield A1 Plate which is Sheffield England silver plated.Research I have done states that items with this marking were made prior to 1840.In 1840 electroplating started to take place and the stamping changed to reflect that method.
Researching the other spoon found that C Rogers & brothers is a Ct company. This particular silver plated design was produced in 1881 thru the early 1900's.As far as the bottles go I have no clue what they are or even if they have any value.

Thank again John.
