The weather is starting to get cold and the ground is freezing up. Here is my latest finds and maybe last for this season:

Got silver and nice old copper smoking pipe.

Small Swedish silver coin, 1

Good stuff !! About time for me to tally-up my finds for the season. My 2011 detecting season ended on the 15th ..

These are excellent finds .I have never seen or heard of a copper pipe, how old do you think it is,and where was it made? What country are you detecting in? You are fortunate indeed to have access to such a productive site. Please show us your finds. Thanks for sharing.

It may not be copper, material could also be bronze or brass and detecting friend told me, that it is made in the late 18th-early 19th century. I dont know yet where was it made, it is high probability that the pipe is locally made and i am still detecting in Finland.

There was one much like it found in Denmark a few days ago but that's the first I've seen. I haven't been able to find anything about pipes in this odd material but the Danish one sure looks very much like the ones common from the 17th century to the 19th century: Danish copper pipe

Finder those are some great finds for sure, I don't know if i ever told you but the town in maine that i live in was settled by the Finnish and there is still a great presence of the culture here

I think you told about the Finnish settlement in Maine, have you found any old Finnish coins there??

Nice finds for a last day. :)

Its always odd when people start talking about the season ending. For me in the south its just starting as the weather cools. I dont do much in the summer cause of the heat and the ticks but go all winter long.
It doesnt get cold enough to stop me usually and the ground is only frozen for short periods. Snow is rare as well.

:ban: I say ......... Hunting all winter .........:ban:...... Hahahahah Can you tell I'm jealouse ... LOL

Sure must be nice .......... post up some good stuff you find .

i actually haven't found really any finnish artifacts but a guy put me on a spot in my area which is a huge 28 acre hay field and was dubbed the finnish play ground which i got my first barber half dollar from and many other stuff was found as well, i did find aa girls bracelet that read made in west germany which i thought was odd all kinds of croatel bells and such
