Searching in 2.5 frequency

Does anyone else do this?I have a hunting buddy that does and watched him find several really deep coins.
He marks targets and evaluates them with 3 frequency mode with good results.
 
I think overall the best frequency for depth is 7.5 KHz. I don't want to miss the tiny targets that 2.5 KHz misses.
