SEARCH COILS

ALSO, COULD SOMEONE MAKE A RECOMMENDATION ABOUT FACTORY ELL. LOOPS AS OPPOSED TO AFTERMARKET.

This has been gone over too many times to mention again in detail by Monte and the gang.
If you do a search for searchcoil in the MXT archives, you'll get more than enough info to cause brain overload...LOL

White's Electronics produces 2 elliptical loops for the MXT; the 10x6 DD, and the 6x4 DD. Both have their advantages and disadvantges as regards one's detecting needs. Being DD's, they both reject iron better than the stock concentric coil, and both isolate targets better, too. The wise MXT user has at least one of these in his/her coil "arsenal." HH jim

I have both and I'd stick to the factory loops. You just can't beat the mini dd white's puts out in my opinion

Hi there by wholes, I have seen several after on coils but I stick at some misgivings ¿ Like knowledge at what time utilizing each? ¿ Than indication the MXT to do the change of coil?

It's all in what you want a coil to do. The stock coil can work in any area you look. How ever there are different coils that will do better in trash than the stock. A small DD coil can't be beat in heavy trash. Whites has the 4x6 and Kellyco puts out the 5 inch excellerator. I have had both and prefer the excellerator. These smaller coils are almost a " MUST HAVE " in heavy trash. Comparing the 2 they both separate good but I give the edge to the after market coil, depth... I have found deeper stuff with the after market coil than I have with the whites. Now for places not so trashy but with higher ground mineralization the bigger dd's will be much smoother than the stock coil. Whites has the 6x10 and Kellyco has a 12.5, 14 and 18 inch excellerator. I have not used the 6x10 but do have the 14 inch excellerator. The depth of the whites is comparible or slightly less than what the stock coil gets. The 14 icnh excellerator will get a solid 3-4 + inches deeper than the stock in any test I have tried. Performance wise there have been some issues with the big coils. How ever one of the members here tried the 5 inch excellerator and did not like it then tried the whites 6x10 and was not to pleased with that either and to my knowledge she has decided to stick with the 4x6. In my opinion if you have a small and a large DD coil you don't need the stock coil. But you should decide what you want one to do , what kinda areas will you do most of your looking ?? Go back through some of the older post. Read all the ones on coil esp. from Monte and Jim, Them two are like encyclopedias for metal detectors. There are quite a few here that have the excellerator coils , Digger and Death wind I know have them but these coils get bashed on here a lot so some folks just keep there info to there self but they will tell you these after market coils Rock !!! Good luck with your decision.
