"my ground reading here in n.c. is about 58 to 59"... That's relatively mellow ground. You ought to get decent depth and general performance.

"i have tried the other that greg was talking about. locking in on 50 or 83) Ok which is the best to lock in at> in the minerslized soil is reading in 58>59>to 60. ???"... Do not lock on either turn-on setting.

With a set '50' you'll be too negative and get some falsing in the Discriminate mode. With the '83' preset you'll be way too positive and that, too, can have a negative impact on your performance.

If your ground phase readings are 58-59-60, then find a spot where you can balance to the '60' readout and THEN you can 'lock' the tracking circuitry!

"do ineed to get a smaller coil to find more coins with?"... It will help if you're hunting sites that have building rubble, trash, or brush.

"I have some problems with the 950 IN PIN POINTING THINGS. WHICH WOULD BE A GOOD COIL TO USE ? I AM LOOKING FOROLDER STUFF> RELIC> AND SO FORTH."... My favorite coil from White's is the 5.3 BullsEye. This coil is not a 5.3 diameter coil, but a 6
