search coil ?

Hi everyone,

I'm new the forum and been away from MD's for a few years. I have an older garrett gta 1000 with the original coil and am considering a new coil just can't decide between a 6.5 x 10 elliptical or the 4.5" sniper coil. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks
John

Coin hunting requires you to dig shallower targets, so a smaller coil would get you closer to play equipment

Coin + old coin searching demands a little more depth, so your stock coil or a larger one would help.

Relic hunting requires more depth again, especially if you are hunting in ploughed fields, so a larger coil would be better.

Good luck with your decision. I had a GTA 500 at one time and found a lot of coins with it......

I happen to have a Crossfire 12.5 inch Deepseeker coil from the CXIII I recently sold. I was going to put on ebay. Although I can get $60 on ebay, I will sell it to you for $50 with shipping if you are interested. I always like dealing with people from the forums better than anonymous bidders! send me a private message if interested

Depends on what you'll be hunting for and where. The Sniper works great in treashy ground and around metal of any kind. The big coil offers more coverage and depth and works better in cleaner ground.
