Sealing Coil Cover

I don't know about the rest of the Explorer users out there, but I seem to accumulate quite a bit of dirt on the inside of the coil cover. I did on other brands as well. I frequently take of the cover, dump out the dirt and wash both the cover and the coil. Has anybody had good luck sealing the coilcover/coil with caulking material or similar?
Thought it might save some cleaning time if it held up.

I used to use silicone on my Sov coils, it held up pretty well.. havent done it with the exp coils yet.. only because I never think of buying more silcone, my old stuff dried up <IMG SRC="/forums/images/smile.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":)">

I used a white silicon caulk and took a wet cloth and wiped the excess off about like you would do to a bathtub or sink. It came out pretty good. I've had it on there for over a year now. It's holding up great. I cleaned it really good before applying the caulk. That is the most important step to making it last.
