Hi to all you Garrett users.I'm neil and I live over the pond in England. My main interest is beach hunting the wet sand, especially along the low tide lines.
I keep looking at the seahunter mk11 and wonder if it will get more depth than my current machine the Whites beach hunter id.I looked into the Garrett once before a few years ago but the thought of digging everything put me off a little to be honest......perhaps i'm too lazy.
However,as the beach I detect is fairly clean down at the low tide mark the Garrett is sparking my interest again,it seems to get good reviews and is one of the cheaper pi options over here.My thought is "what could I be missing that is a few inches deeper than my detector will let me detect".........could the Garrett seahunter give me that extra depth to reach those rings I know are there. All the rings I have found on my beach have been at fairly good depths and I know that many more are to be found a few inches deeper.I know this as I have found watches at greater depths than any rings I have found that have given me fairly quiet signals......rings at the same depth would not register a signal on my machine.
I've owned a minelab sovereign and the beach hunter id which I feel gives me the edge over the sov on smaller items, depth is about the same on both machines.
Does anyone out there know for a fact that the seahunter would go deeper than the sov or beach hunter,if it does i'm more than willing to give it a bash, even a couple of inches increase would probably make it worthwhile.

Cheers,neil.

Wow,nobody.
Does this mean:
A.It's no good.
B.It's that good nobody wants anyone else to know about it.
C.Nobody has compared it to the best multi frequency vlf detectors depth wise.

Have you tried using a larger coil on your Sovereign? If not, something like the NEL Attack or Coiltek WOT may give you the extra couple of inches that you are looking for.

Thanks for the reply. My basic aim is to get deeper than a vlf machine by using a pi and that is why I asked if the sh was deeper than the sov etc.My BHID is the best beach detector I have ever used,it just needs learning properly,so I think I will stick with it as it seems that the sh does'nt cause that much excitement depth wise.
