Seahunter Mk II:ukflag:

Just cashed in a few finds and invested in a new Garrett Seahunter Mk II as there are about 400 beaches in Cornwall a lot with deep sand.
Anyone got ideas about using it and setting it up or is it just the usual 50-100 hours of practice.

Had one since they first went on sale. Great machine in salt water and wet sand. Run mine wide open and dig it all. Not much flasing with them and being a p.i. machine not much trows it off.

Mine is going back for repairs and that has nothing to do with Garrett....machine has been used very heavily and has been half way round the world and back a few times.

Pound for pound a great machine. One word of advice is to get a stainless steel seive with a steel pole...loys of tougue when swishing. Look forward to your posts!

Leslie.
Thanks for the info.
Still no sign of the SH II, getting a bit annoyed as the weather has been great this week with long tides, the beach I want to try the tide goes out over a quarter of a mile and is very narrow so would be the perfect test beach.
I have has the same problem with my Detector pro Wader as it gets knocked on the rocks for up to 4 hours a day and has just about given up the ghost.
I don't use a scoop as I use a stainless steel border spade which has a long handle which I drag behind me so as to mark where I have been so I don't cover the same area twice.
Shall post any finds, if the machine ever turns up!!

Just outside Newquay!
I have just found out that it is going to be another two weeks as they have sold out but I still have a couple of Detector Pro Waders to be going on with and an SE Pro so I am not in a rush,

I bet you ordered yours from regton. I was going to till they told me about the wait. I ended up getting annex demo one from crawfords for £458 with delivery! Luck was on my side for a change. I'm in perranporth.

That was a good buy.
Perranporth is one of the few beaches that I do not detect on, don't know why I expect that it is the parking charges now all year round.
Some weeks I am out 3-4 days and it would cost a fortune in parking charges.
Good luck with the SH II for the winter season.

robertoats.
I decided on the SH II as you can use the control on a belt which keeps the weight down on the coil, also I hope it stops me from keep breaking headphone cables, I also attatch my detectors to a harness to stop cables stretching.
I ordered my SH II from a company called, themuseum.co.uk which was a lot cheaper.
I found out the other day that the headphone sound can be quite loud with no volume control so I will have to sort that out, I have got some of those orange ear protectors if I should need them
