SeaHunter Mark 11 Anyone have much time on one ?

I got one shot on a beach machine coming up. It's going to be used mainly for the wet salt sand & salt water wading. My AT Pro handles the dry very well so I don't need a real high end machine. I'm down to finding out as much as I can on about 3~4 water machines. So if anyone has any experience with the Sea Hunter could you help me with some opinions. Thanks.

I've got one, and I can honestly say it's the deepest machine I ever used. The disc does work on knocking out pull tabs but you already know what happens when you do , so anyway I love the machine it does sound off on iron expect to dig that also , standard mode is what is use, you need a long handle scoop and stay off the soft target area and stay near or in the water, I suggest you hip mount it , it is a heavy machine , GL

Thanks again Hank

I hope to get a sea hunter this year if things go right. Glad you mentioned the weight and will do the hip mount. I got to start some physical therapy in March, 3 times per week and hope I get to feeling like detecting again. 95% of my detecting will be in the water from now on and I hope to start detecting at least once a week if not more. Are you still in Fl., Dancer?

Great machine and very reliable as the Garrett line goes. Had the old Seahunter XL150 too which was good but a tad heavy. PI is the only way to go in salt water. My Seahunter Mk11 gearing up for the Dominican annual 2 weeks...can't wait!

Good luck & happy hunting in Dominican republic, Leslie. Hope you and the family have a safe trip and a great time.

i've been using one for about 6mos and only in wet sand as surf is to rough to deal with. i have 2 coils--the 8 and 14 and use the 14 more often. as i was telling a fellow the other day who was swinging his minelab while i was doing my thing--the best thing about the sea hunter pulse was that it hit every piece of metal. also told him the worst thing about the machine--it hits every piece of metal-that's why i stick to the wet sand. pinpointing--not easiest thing to do and discrimination--i don't bother with it (minimal at best). i was in florida last week and picked up a matchbox car toy at 2.5 feet--actual measurement as it was on the side of my hole.

i use a limbsaver over the shoulder to minimize the weight issue.

ps--just ordered a vibra probe 580 to help pick out targets once i get them to the surface.

i've hit only clads--picked a dime over 12 inches--wet sand. also--very sensitive to small bits of wire ie fish hooks. bobby pins, wire--sound scratchy--but i dig figuring it might be a bracelet. i use a mud shovel on the beach vs. a basket to retrieve my finds--easier, faster and a good one costs 50-60.00. google mud shovel.

I have had my SEA HUNTER FOR MANY YEARS. It's great on the beach where it belongs, it will find anything made of metal. So I say too you DO NOT BRING IT TO A SCHOOL YARD YOU WILL BE DIGGING PENCIL ERASER ENDS DOWN TO 12-15 INCHES. I use an AT PRO for that or my ACE 350 which is always in my car. (you never know when you'll need a detector) LOL
