erikk said:I have & use both the SH MK2 & the Infinium LS I have the big coils on both and although I use the Excal/WOT most of the time there are places with highly materialized ground, black sand & iron that require using the SH or LS to punch through. I recommend both however a LS is really not for a newbie

A llittle common sense helps alot. Learning the Infinium isn't rocket science. JMO![]()
erikk said:No it isn't but common sense isn't going to help U with the GB or getting it stable in certain environments if U don't understand the basics of the machine
Fl West coast but I also hunt the iron, black sand infested shores of lake As I said it has a pretty good learning curve to get it right. I hunt the surf with it down here all the time with no problems. Proper GB is the key. I might also add that I went through 3 new LS's before I got one that was working properly.Lake Hunter said:erikk said:No it isn't but common sense isn't going to help U with the GB or getting it stable in certain environments if U don't understand the basics of the machine
What state are U from ?? I'm from California. I have had a very hard time ground balancing the Infinium on salt water beaches I hunt while in the shallow surf where the waves are hitting the coil constantly. I can get the machine stable enough to tell the good targets, I just can't get it to not false when the waves touch the coil in the surf. If you can ground balance without any type of falsing in that type of enviroment, then I stand corrected. But the basics so far tell me it can't be done.
Thanks for the reply back.

Try this:
Turn everything to 0 place coil on the WET sand and hold it motionless while you turn on the machine on and to to fast-wait about 10 seconds and then turn to
slow for about the same and then to LOCK raise threshold to about 3 I hunt discrimination @ 0 If volume is 2 loud (waterproof headphones) I use foam inserts in the cups. Because in CA U might have electrical interference there are other ways to set it up-this is the basic set up and works for me here in FL but U might have to raise the disc to around 3
