Sea Hunter strikes GOLD at Maiden Voyage :beers:

Finally found a couple of hours to test the brand spankin new Garrett Sea Hunter Mark II. I was worried at first coz at home the Garrett Sea Hunter (GSH) was making all kinds of weird noises but I was advised by some that this is because of all the electrical stuff around the house - it is my first Pulse Induction (PI) Machine. Once I got out in the open, she was hummin' beautifully.

Anyway, I got the hang of it within half an hour and I was pulling out one sinker after another plus a few modern day coins. Then unexpectedly out of the hole pops a small gold ring! Yaaayyyy!!!! The coin was engraved on the inside with "Talent Quest '99" and there is a faint 375 there as well...

$5.95 in loose change, a horseshoe (yeah on the beach!), 25 sinkers and a couple of pull tabs were the other takes of the day.

My verdict on the GSH? Oh yeah baby bring it on! A bit heavy though so I think I'll do the hip-mount configuration next time. It almost completely ignores heavy clumps of black sand. love it love it love it!

Ok see you around.

Cheers
Snoopy
PS: After I packed the GSH in the car, I grabbed the X-Terra 705 for a bit of a swing at a park next to the beach and man the x-terra felt light as a feather! Grin

Congratulations on the Ring.......Yep The GSH2 is on The heavy side, I would for sure look into hip mounting her on your next hunt.

Good job Snoop! Get some more!

Maybe try under the cuff mounting of the control box, like the Infinium. It balances the weight really well.

Thanks Alan. I did have it under the cuff. It was balanced but boy it was still heavy. I'll try hipmounting it

Cheers

Hi Snoopy,
I sent you a message in reply to your email about an hour ago, but it looks as if it might be a bit late....sorry...Congratulations on the finds, especially the ring. Glad to hear that the SH is behaving itself now...I thought that getting out and away from suburban interference would solve the problem...I guess there'll be no holding you back now....HH:)

I forgot to add, when you are finding sinkers, stay in that area until you're sure you've extracted everything you possibly can from there...good luck
