Does anyone out there know where I can find a arm strap for my SH...the waves keep turning the md sideways and the rope lope does nothing to stop it...I emailed Garrett about it and they said they would pass the request on the research and development.

Plugger makes a straight shaft and arm cuff with strap for it. You might find your solution there.

Eek,

I drilled and filed two slits (both sides) in the armcuff and used a regular piece of velcro/strap that threads through the slits.

The metal is tough to get through. I used a Dremel tool which made things a bit easier. Don't cut the slits too wide (top to bottom) or the strap can pull through.

It doesn't have to be perfect. Just ensure no rough edges as this will end up fraying the strap.

Tony.

I have switched arm cuffs from other machines to the one I'm using . You may have to drill new holes but they interchange fairly easily.

I don't use arm straps I find them useless when you want to put the detector down for digging, which in my case is often, it's a constant battle getting it off your arm sometimes. It may come in handy water hunting but not for me I swing then change hands so I can use the scoop with the same hand or dig with trowel with same hand as I swing with. And a strap becomes a pain. ever try using a baseball mitt on the wrong hand then have to take it off to throw the ball, that's me:lmfao: GL if you can find use for them Tesoro and Fisher sell Arm Straps if you want one they are not that expensive yet you would still have to put the slots in your arm rest.

Thanks Guys, I have looked at I think Pluggers straight shaft with strap....I think I am going that way....I swing the SH with left hand and dig with right and the rope lope is great for not loosing the md, but with any wave action the md gets all out of shape and in the way.
That is why I want a strap.

Thanks again to all,

eek
