Sea Hunter Mark II or Surf PI DF

Hi everyone,

I am new to the forums and I am looking at the Sea Hunter Mark II and the Special Surf PI DF due to budget restraints. I am going on a beach vacation this week in SW Florida (Marco Island) and was wondering what the pros / cons / comparison of these 2 detectors are.

I am leaning toward the Sea Hunter but could cough up a little more for the Surf PI DF.

I currently own a Minelab Explorer SE. I would love to have the Excalibur but I am limited in funds right now. I could always trade up down the road. I live in Upstate NY so beach detecting is not something I can do often.

I have been reading through the forums but I haven't found a good comparison of the 2 detectors say side by side.

Any suggestions / information would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Thanks for the responses!

After a little more research in these forums and on the Internet I have decided to go with the Garrett Sea Hunter Mark II. I am a certified diver and the Garret can go deeper than the DF should I choose to do so. I also like the user changeable coil and headphones.

I will be on a SW Florida beach for almost 2 weeks so I will let everyone know what I find and how the detector performs.

Good luck to everyone!

I wish you the best of luck. While your down there, there is a place in Homestead called Richard Is Here. It's a fruit and vegetable stand. They have about 50 different kinds of honey, and each tastes different because the bees were kept near different kinds of flowers. If you love honey, you have to check it out. Even if you don't like honey, they have the most incredible tomatoes in the world. I could go there and buy a tomato and eat in the freaking car in the parking lot. The people that live in South Florida don't know how good they have it. The fruits and veggies everywhere else are crap in comparison.
