SE PRO Problem:ukflag:

I have had an SE Pro now for a couple of years, over this time I have had several problems with the battery pack. It has been sent off and repaired twice. Because of this I stopped using it, dug it out the other day to try it again, on returning I took out the battery for recharging and there was damp on it.
I unscrewed the arm rest to move it and it came off, on checking I could see daylight coming through into the battery pack, so we have now found the problem.
Question.
Is it just my machine or is it a very bad design fault.

I have an SE Pro and so does my hunting buddy..We've been using them for about 4 years without any problems whatsoever,,,,,,,

You may have just gotten a bad battery pack etc..

Are you saying there is a gap in the saight armrest area or the battery pack itself?
If its the armrest area simply remove the screws on the side and make sure there is nothing causing it not too snap together good once the screws are installed.
If its the battery I say ditch it and buy the RNB Battery .

Thanks guys.
It's not the battery pack as I now use 2500mAh rechargables which are about $12 for 8 which I have found to be very good and have been charged about 50 times.
I shall check the screws and see if there is a problem, at the moment I have sealed the area with silicon grease I use on my DP Wader.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you submerge the lower rod and it is wet inside then tilt the coil upward the remaining water/ moisture can run towards the battery compartment.
If its not that then it must be the housing is not correctly assymbled and there is a obstruction causing poor fitment I believe.
Best of luck.

Have tried just about everything, I still cannot get the two halves of the casing to join together, if I push the two halve together they fit so there must be a problem with the top assembly, so I shall just have to be careful and keep checking the grease.
I think I will bind the area with Duck tape that will cure it.

Don't try again , instead take a picture and post it on here then I might be able to help you . Make it a close up shot , where abouts does it not go together ?

I am pretty sure I know what the problem is but will need to see it first to make sure.

Hope this gets to you OK.
The gap is inside the part where the armrest slide fits. It has silicon grease in it but you can still see the gap.
As the screws are only self tappers they cannot be any tighter.
Hope you can help.

No it looks like it isn't what I thought so it will be a trip back to Minelab , maybe a new stem assembly would be best . I did that once before with one of my old ET a few years ago and it was not to expensive .

I thought it might have been the board with the battery springs inside the battery compartment that were not in the right place which would stop the sides coming together properly but that is not the case here.
