SE Overload?:ukflag:

Does anyone know what was wrong, whilst I was detecting with the SE Pro on a new field the machine kept switching off, I thought I had a problem but when I moved away from the area it seemed to work correctly again and has never done it again.

Your detector was literally turning itself off? Hmm ... maybe a loose battery connection or your detector just had a momentary quirk? I don't think it had anything to do with an overload signal ... unless you go back again and it does the same thing. And hopefully it won't happen again.

Hey JAN1 -- I have seen an E-Trac do that before...seemed like it had something to do with the cold weather causing it to act up. My SE Pro does not do that, but I remember my friend's E-Trac did...was it cold where you hunted today?

Sound like you need to squirt some anti corrosive spray in your battery hole. Mine was having issue of NOT wanting to come on. Cleaned my battery points and used the spray... no problem since. It not a problem thats been addressed on here before that i know of ..... except for the battery connectors like i said.

I would say a poor battery connection or keypad on detector failing. Hope it is just a battery problem.

Thanks everyone.
I shall have to go back to the same spot when the swamp dries out, I was out the other day and dug three sides of a rectangle and pealed it back, it immediately filled with water so I had to give it up.
Doesn't usually get very cold around here so we shall see when I check the area again in the spring.
Was the spray recommended a WD40 type of spray.

Im curious on the outcome too. Keep us posted.
