SE or SE Pro question

Dude

New member
I've been looking at the SE as my next detector purchase and I'm a little confused. From what I've read there's been 4 generations of the Explorer. Is the SE the 3rd generation and the SE Pro the 4th?

Every photo advertisement I've seen shows an Explorer with SE only on the face and battery compartment, but is called the SE Pro.

the se pro has the pro coil on it. not sure what coil was on the the first se but you can buy the pro coil and use it on any of the explorers.

The SE and SE Pro are the same detector minus the Pro Coil.
Well, the SE-Pro does say Professional on the side of the cotrol box.
The SE Pro and the SE both use the 3rd Gen. Processor.
It goes like this:
XS First Gen. V1.10.5 22.Dec.99" at power up and the newer 1.10.5A 20.Sept.0
XS-S First Gen.
XS-II Second Gen.
SE Third Gen
SE-P Third Gen.

Which coil came with the SE before they introduced the Pro Coil ?

it was a 10 inch Slimline coil it looks just like the 10 inch tornado coil that soveriegns come with.

[size=large]the explorer se came with the 10" and the Pro came with the 11" DD coil. otherwise those two are one and the same. although you can use the coils from the pro on the explorer 2 and such the set up of the ex 2 and the se are a little differant. the best i would suggest is getting Andy Sabisch's book, the," Minelab Explorer and E-trac Handbook".the must have of any explorer owner imho.
