[attachment 49195 Eaglefront.jpg][attachment 49196 Eagleback.jpg][attachment 49197 Eaglefrontcleaned.jpg][attachment 49198 Eaglebackcleaned.jpg]After 3 years of trying to figure out which detector to upgrade to I finally made a decision. As you can see, I'm glad I did. Yes, this area has been hammered for many years with detectors. I just hit the right time, right spot, with the right detector. I do have a question about nulling. With my previous detector I would hunt in all metal mode. I just hunted a few hours this morning with the SE before I got rained out but when I would get a good signal it would null and get silent and the only way I could get the good target is first find the bad target and remove it. What settings should I adjust so it will not null so much. I don't mind hearing alot of bad signals, but it gets frustrating when the detector gets silent so much and the good signals get silent. I hope I am making sense. This detector is new, 2.5 hours new, to me. I have not adjusted any settings, I just turned it on, hit noise cancel and started hunting. All your comments would be appreciated. Also any information on the Eagle would be great.

Thanks in advance.

If you don't mind hearing whats in the ground-Go to iron mask and open up to 31. You can open to All Metal with one more click. Then set your sounds to Ferrous and you should be good to go. All good metals will come in on the right side of the screen but you won't lose anything to nulling. In a busy area you will want to slow way down to pick up anything masked by a piece of iron. Your other settings such as sen. will be adjusted as you need to like any machine.
Hope this helps a bit.

See page 63 of your manual - set response to long. Otherwise it will ALWAYS null after a target.

use a smaller coil.....turn down sens. and keep turning 90deg. till you find the sweet spot of the good sound.....cause it is full of iron and full of signals go slow and watch for anything with potential sounds........the deeper the signal depth the more likely it is good....the ex xs will find treasure in junk but not perfectly...so if you get good 90 deg out of 360 you will either dig rusty nail or treasure. rusty nail sounds are delayed after you pass it. what does that mean? It means...find signal.....pin point it and draw imaginary spot where it is and then go back to detect and see if signal is same spot...if not, you are hitting edge of rusty nail if pinpoint spot and detect spot is same then dig! detect meaning "not pinpoint mode" Smart screen. be it 2d screen or digital or iron mask. I know what I mean just not sure if I am saying it right.

If you don't mind all the noise go all metal, Iron mask on all the way up to 32...that should take care of the nulling...I would also suggest that you put it in manual sensetivity & adjust as needed to keep it stable...HH..TT
