SE Falsing Cure

I relic hunt with my SE in all metal and ferrous sounds. Recently I had an experience that somewhat puzzled me where the detector seemed extra sensitive and was creating those bothersome iron chirps. I realized that everytime I swung the detector to the left it responded to my digging tool, even though the tool was near the top of the shaft. I ran an experiment and found that any metal moved just 6 inches from the display (top connector) would create a response. In short, the detector was detecting me. I then removed my car keys and loose change from my front pockets and moved my belt buckle to the side. I also started carrying the digger in my back pocket. The SE became as quiet as I ever remember it and all was well.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Hmm, that's weird. I run my SE in AM and Fe sounds for coin shooting and I do not have that problem. I have my keys, knife in front pockets, digger on my right side slightly behind me and my Pistol Probe on my left. Never had a problem like yours though.
