Screen??

Rob (IL)

New member
One thing I will say is the SE has one of the worse screens to see in the sun.

OK, my question is what product has someone found that will protect the screen and cut down the glare? I've tried a few and they looked like crap. I don't want one of the rain covers, the soft wavy screen don't make it. Any help would be appreciated.

What screen contrast do you feel is best IYHO?

what contrast you use.

I too get very frustrated...but trust me...it will make you a better hunter when you rely on 100% sound alone.

As for the rain covers...the first time you scratch the living snot out of the screen...you'll have wished you had one on.:bouncy:

I've had a rain cover on my SE since day one ... it takes a little getting used to.

Oh, I have one on but don't like it.

usually people buy very expensive antiglare plastick pieces, but I suggest go to the pictures framing shop and ask for small piece anti-reflective acrilick glass, or use old frame with similar glass . its look like fogy and exist allot variety. or extremely take clear laque and spray some fogy thin layer on clear plastic and you will brake sun reflection.

Thanks for the input guys.

I believe apple sells anti glare screen protection for the Ipods, so does ClearTouch, Zapp, and Nutouch which i think is the better. Just another one of those things that would be nice to have up graded... guess it all costs the manufacturers money, but you would think they would offer some of these things on their web site for sale as accessories for our convenience.

I like the SE, but as I said the screen is bad. But hey, why change when we keep buying.

I have my screen covered. It is really difficult to see the screen, especially with glare from light. I know I hunt by sound, but I still like to see where the cursor is, out of curiosity.

I think if you took a good rain cover like a Pro-Tector and cut the plastic screen away just leaving 1/4 inch around the edge you could take a piece of antiglare acrylic like Stasys mentioned and attach it giving yourself a raincover with a solid antiglare screen. You can drill acrylic so a series of 1/16" holes around the perimeter and you could sew it on....
