Screen protectors

Where do we use the discount code?

Which item should we get from Zagg? iPhone - iPod Touch - Blackberry

I've been meaning to pickup a screen protector because I don't like to use the cover. Should have got one when I first read about them. Now I'm kicking myself because I put some scratches on my screen the other day. If you don't get a screen protector keep that cover on! :veryangry:

The story of my life!!!!! A dollar short and a day late. My Zagg cover just arrived today. Oh well, still good insurance for my new E-Trac. I had put a zip lock bag over the face until I got some sort of protection.

I participated in the Blue & Gray Invitational in Virginia a few weeks back. When I arrived onsite for the three-day hunt, it was raining to beat the band and the forecast was for more of the same. After driving several hundred miles and forking over the non-fundable entry fee, I figured I had to try to waterproof my E-Trac's housing somehow and at least hunt for a little while. Although I had the screen protector on my E-Trac, I really did not want to fool with a zip-lock bag, so I went to the grocery store and bought some plain old Saran Wrap. I removed the roll from the carton and stretch-wrapped the entire housing, over-lapping the edge of the screen protector about a half-inch or so. The Saran Wrap adhered to the screen protector, thereby completely water-proofing the E-Trac's housing. Hunted this way in the driving rain and made some nice recoveries. I would have never done this at home, but it actually worked better that I could have imagined.

They work great. You still need a cover in the rain but these will protect your screen. I put them on all my detectors and on my cellphone, they are great and one pack has lasted me over 5 years.

Quetion for those who have bought one in the past, How long after you ordered your screen protector did it take to arrive at your door?

Thanks

DJH

I ordered one too. I got the cheaper deal that just provides the front cover. If it starts raining I'll put the Minelab full cover on. Tortoise

Just to let all you guys know that does'nt know already, is when you place the Minelab full protective cover over the protective screen cover, they will stick together and in my case pull the protective cover from the screen and case a bubble that will not go away. This happen to me. Thought I let you know. HH EddieB

So when you use the Minelab weather hood, the clear plastic window over the screen area sticks to the screen protector. This is not really surprising, but good to know. The screen protectors have a lifetime warranty, so I believe if you contact them and then remove and send back the bubbled screen protector they will replace it at no charge. All reports I have seen are that their customer service is top notch, it's certainly worth giving them a call. If you do, let us know how it turns out.

Hello Nick and all, yes they are a top notch company and their policy of lifetime warranty is true and a no frill return before 30 days. I contacted them and they reccommended a refund since I use the minelab cover with the screen protector. The ML cover is the only way to go in my opinion. HH EddieB
