Screaming 176 signal wasn't what i thought it was!

I've been digging up my own back yard and have to admit I'm having a BLAST! It's been tough going because there are old nails of every shape and size strewn all over the place. I've been after the deeper sounding signals so needless to say, if I hear a loud surface sounding 176, I would normally pass it up for a Zincoln. Well I passed this particular signal several times before, with a few detectors I might add, and finally something inside me said "ahhh just dig it up and get it out of the way". So I literally get the tip of my shovel in the dirt and hear that it's already out so I think "yep just as I thought, a shallow zinc". Then I take a closer look and it's a 1901 IH LOL! This yard has me baffled because I'm digging some memorials and wheats down to 7"-8" and the merc dime about the same depth and this pops out just under the surface. Go figure....any way got a large religious medal as well, a small measuring teaspoon a thimble and the usual collection of nails and junk. The back of the medal still has the rust stain from one of the nails melded to it! I have never seen a Sov XS as awesome as this one in separating the good stuff from iron. Every one of the signals I have been digging back here has at least one or more nails in with it. I will say that a less experienced operator might have passed these signals up as some of them sound horrible but you just KNOW sometimes when you have something good enough to dig! HH George Fatizzi PS. I have the wife so intrigued with what I've been finding that she says she wants her OWN detector now to try! What better excuse than to buy one I've had my eye on for an iron trash/modern clad shooter. Thinking about the EuroTek Pro. At $300.00 it sounds like a no brainer. Have any of you Sov users tried one yet?

George very nice finds. In the past I never found any 1909 wheat's,that's because they will come in lower than IHs.In one season found at least ten 1909s including a couple VBDs,by digging 173-174 ID reading. Thanks for sharing Ron

Thanks Ron. By the way, your meter is rock solid! I haven't had to adjust it since I got it. Thanks for an awesome product at a great price! HH George
