Scratching the itch in a half hour.

I had a half hour to kill today so went to a local soccer field. As I started to the field from the unpaved parking lot I turned the machine on and walked with it about 2 inches above the crushed stone. BEEP BEEP. Hmmm, a dime. I walked a little further, BEEP, BEEP. Another dime. When I got to the soccer field, I hunted for about 2 minutes, nothing. So, back to the parking lot I went for the next 25 minutes.
It was fun! I was hitting about one target per minute and they were all no deeper than 1/2 inch because of the stone.
It was a good way to scratch the itch. no silver or jewelry but a very satisfying half hour of scratching for clad.

Good for you. Funny how the shorties can really scratch the itch at times. A week or two ago I ran the warden to the salon for a cut. I was waiting and decided before hand to bring the machine. I did a few blocks of grass strips in an area that I didn't bother with much before. Ding, ding, ding consistant high numbers topping at 90 ! I got a silver quarter which is getting tougher to find here all the time. A very short but rewarding hunt. :detecting:

Yep, it can be satisfying to pop target after target, & those coin jars add up. Just look at John-E; I hear that he's got millions in gold coins, all bought with clad!

Hey, short hunts are good hunts! I've got places I hunt while the wife's in seeing the Dr. or dentist. Gotta find one close to the beauty salon next, lo!
