Your last words of wisdom ring so true in my own ears. I spent the last year learning the GTI 2500, and I mean it wasn't easy for me. I got so darn feed up with it that many times I used my ole faithful Tek 8000 to over-come the sad outtings with the GTI 2500. Then one day it rang out loud and has been talking to me ever since. And I know that it isn't the best detector on the market...But for now it's the best for me.

You said that:
"I have over 100 hundred hours on mine and all that rpoves is it works for me...in my area....yet has no firm definition on how it will work for another.
So ya'll take over now...I am snowed in...and no signs of a thaw for weeks to come.

And I know your right Scott, but I'll always look forwward to your words of wisdom!
All I would like to see is people give it a good couple of weeks before deciding if it is a ya..or nay.
I totally agree with that for any machine. I'll tell you if I would have only given my Explorer 4 or 5 outings it would still be wrapped around a tree up the road... My initial impressions of my Explorer was it was a big piece of poop.... to put it nicely. Now, the Explorer is one of my all time favorite machines The Explorer taught me to NEVER trust first impressions. Good luck in surviving the detecting itch in the coming months! My T2 will get some serious hours on it before I pass my judgement on it. HH!
