I THINK I KNOW THE GUY WHO GOT IT BUT HAVE NOT SEEN HIM SINCE I WAS TOLD OF THIS. HE ALWAYS HUNTED SALISBURY HE WAS THERE EVERY DAY I HUNTED THERE THERE FOR LAST 7 YEARS UNTIL THEN.PLUS HEARD SOME GOLD COIN TURNED UP AGAIN??? I SAW SOME OF THE REALES THAT WERE FOUND.BUT HAVE ONLY HEARD RUMERS OF GOLD COIN NEAR THE WATER TOWER. WHAT HAVE YOU HEARD??
 
I do think I heard about the gold coin.

No telling what that shipwreck out there will produce. I think Vic Ricardo still has salvage rights. If you do an internet search on him, you can pull up the meeting minutes of one of his presentations before the archie board. Seems there are two shipwrecks - one produces the cobs like Marc found and the other produces milled silver from the the early 1700's. I pulled up a silver spoon one year that had very early hallmarks - maybe from a wreck. We need a storm that's big enough to wash out what's left of the sea walls - now that would produce!
 
YOU DON'T HAVE TO GIVE UP THE EXACT SPOT I WAS JUST WONDERING WHAT PEOPLE HAD HEARD FROM THE SALISBURY AREA.I'VE BEEN TRYING TO PUT TOGETHER SOME RESEARCH MAPING OUT CUTS COMPARED TO STORM SIZE AND DIRECTION.SOME TIMES WE GET HUGE WASH OUTS FROM SMALL STORMS THAT JUST DON'T MAKE ANY SENSE.THEN WE GET 3 DAY N.EASTERS THAT JUST TURN UP CLAD! I KNOW THERE MUST BE SOME WAY TO GIVE US DETECTIST SOME HINTS AS OF WHERE THE NEXT HOT HOLE IS GONNA SHOW UP. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREAT!! I ALWAYS SHARE INFO I GATHER FROM MY SCOUTING TRIPS WITH IN REASON.IF YOU DON'T WANT IT PUBLIC JUST PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR E-MAIL ME.
 
OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS WHERE THE CUT HAPPENED AND WHAT I FOUND AND WHAT I SAW FOUND.THERE ARE A FEW REPEAT SPOTS THAT TURN UP SILVERS ONLY WHEN CERTAIN THINGS HAPPEN THAT ARE EASY TO SPOT. DO YOU THINK MOST OF THE RECENT BIG SILVER HAULS CAME OUT OF THE DUNES THAT GOT HIT AND WERE SPREAD OUT FROM THERE OR PUSHED UP FROM LOWER SPOTS??
 
The really beat up silver is what washes around down low and gets thrown up. The clean coins are the ones that get dug out of the dunes.

What you have to do is go to the buoy site and print the hourly readings for the entire storm. you then look at the wind direction, speed, and the number of high tides that occur during the storm and plot where the cuts turned up. It's too bad there is no site to show what the coastal currents are doing because I think that is even more important that wind/wave size!

I have the middle of the beach somewhat figured out. It's north and south that give me fits!
