Scorpion stings another ring and I do the dance...

Hunted a small park about a mile from my house that I haven't been to in ages. I was surprised to find it loaded with coins. I started in the tot lot with the 250 and picked up a few coins then I headed for a picnic table under some shade trees and the coins were abundant.

I then headed for the soccer field but not before swapping detectors and switching to the Scorpion. It had clouded up and thunder was rolling around with a sprinkle or two of rain. I had just started and picked up a few coins when I got a solid hit, poked my screwdriver into the ground and popped out this lovely little ring. Don't know what the stone is ( perhaps blue topaz or tourmaline ) but it sits in an 18 KT white gold mounting so it ain't glass. I was doing my little jig when my phone goes off with the call I was expecting.

My dog goes berserk when it thunders or fireworks go off so she was slowly dismantling the house and I had to run home and corral her. By the time I done that and cleaned up the mess it had started raining so my much anticipated trip back to the park went right in the toilet - but there is always tomorrow if it ain't still raining. Something tells me there are some more goodies there with my name on them.

Rounded up over four bucks ( handful of pennies not shown ) in less than two hours plus the ring. I sure hated to leave as the coins were steady coming out of the ground and there is a lot of sports field to cover.

Nice find on that ring and all that clad. Like you said more for you to find their..

I knew if you got a little practice in, someday you'd get the hang of this detecting thing!

The stone looks like a Tanzanite to me and a nice one. I would have to agree with you. It would be a tad askew to place a piece of glass, or even a synthetic, in an 18k setting.

You are still the master!
