Scorpion interest

You guys are interesting me about the Scorpion. Does it have any advantages over the Ace for coin and jewelry hunting?

It is hotter on meteorites, can be hip or chest mounted, was built to find gold.... so it was tweaked to be more sensitive to gold, can be manually ground balanced or just a an automatic balance, has a TR mode to help distinguish hot rocks from gold, has a true all metal mode like the GTI 2500 and Master Hunter CX Plus, and it is a lot of fun too. :) Both will find equally lots of coins. The Scorpion will find you more nickels then the ACE will.

But....you lose the meter and therefore must learn to use you ears for depth and target ID. But that generally makes you dig those iffy signals, and you end up with more good targets.

Check = Highly Recommended
Dots = Recommended

The Scorpion is really just a single tone with many variations thereof. Like a square tab almost always has kind of a double beep, but you dig them anyways, you never know. On the Scorpion, as with any knobby machine, if you are using discrimination, you dig anything that gives a good solid repeatable signal with the amount of Disc. you have it set for. I usually set mine to hit a US nickle hard and dig everything that repeats. The Scorpion will give you scratchy tones on stuff that is slightly lower than that. All-metal is out for me as most of the sites I hunt are littered with all manner of junk!! I rather like hunting without a meter of any kind, just Beep-Dig and see what it is. You spend a lot less time analyzing stuff and digging more goodies!!! And a little more junk too!!!

Hey
After I posted the question . I was thinking that when I used the ace250 most of the time I'm listening for tones and dig. so learning the scorpion shouldn't be that hard. beside I can always post a question here. Thanks -- Graw
